Long Term Portfolio

2017-12-21_LTPortfolioExampleThe long term portfolio is typically made of equity positions, either on the long side or on the short side depending of general market conditions. Since the stock market is skewed to the upside long equity positions are preferred but it is also a sound approach to short selected stocks with significant bearish potential during major market corrections. Following an initial breakout above a foundation or breakdown below a major support level the position is kept in the portfolio for a period of time that can stretch from a few weeks to several years and it is protected by progressively moving the stop loss level with successive adjustments with every breakout or breakdown through significant resistance or support price levels.
